The
Unitarian Church on St. Stephen's Green has been open for worship
since 1863. It is a non-credal church and welcomes all who wish
to worship in a spirit of freedom, reason, and tolerance. We do
not have a test of beliefs or faith nor any ceremony of admittance.
Membership is open to those who wish to be regarded as members.
We would invite prospective members to attend some of our services
(Sundays at 11a.m.)
Those wishing to be married in the Unitarian Church
should contact the minister or lay preacher. A good time to make
contact is after the weekly Sunday service. The diary can be checked
to see if the date required is available and a booking made. We
will provide a copy of the marriage service and other useful reading
material. The legal requirements for marriages in Ireland have changed
with effect from 5th November 2007 please contact the Registrar
of Marriages for information, giving the Dublin Unitarian Church
as the venue. The Registrar will send a formal notification to the
Unitarian Church.
Flowers
are at your discretion. You should contact the church caretaker
to arrange a suitable time to deliver the flowers to the church.
Use of the church organ or other music will be at your discretion.
Our organist will be happy to play by arrangement.
This little booklet has been compiled to enable
you to prepare your wedding at the Unitarian Church on St. Stephen’s
Green.
It contains an outline of the legal requirements;
a specimen service; suggestions for readings; a brief history of
the Dublin church;
an introduction to Unitarianism, answers to some frequently asked
questions; a checklist of things to do; and some useful phone numbers
and email addresses.

Should you have any further questions,
contact the Vestry on 01-4780638 or one of our wedding chaplain’s
who will be always pleased to help.
