Funeral services For those who are members of a church, when death occurs the natural thing is to have the funeral service in that church. When a person has, for whatever reason, opted out of regular church attendance, most churches are happy to hold the funeral service. But sometimes this type of service is not what the deceased would have wished for and families may feel uncomfortable with the service that church provides. In recent times there has been a growth in humanist funerals but many people feel that this type of service does not give sufficient recognition to the spiritual nature of man. The Unitarian Church on St. Stephen's Green has been open for worship since 1863. It is a non-credal church and welcomes all who wish to worship in a spirit of freedom, reason, and tolerance. We believe that all people should seek their own path to spirituality, that life's milestones of birth, marriage and especially death should be marked in a very individual manner. In consultation with the family, we will provide a funeral service that will reflect the beliefs and wishes of the deceased, their family and friends. Funerals may be held in the Unitarian church or at another venue. For further Information, please contact the vestry on (01) 4780638 or Bridget Spain (01) 8388 808
